Manchester United have signed a massive shirt sponsorship deal with tech company “TeamViewer” which comes into play from 2021-22 season. It will be a 5 year deal which will last till 2026-27 and will bring in massive €275 million (£235m) in revenue for the club.
This deal will replace United’s current global shirt sponsor “Chevrolet” which was the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in Sports history signed back in 2014 racking in £64 million (US$83m) a year for United. However, under the current circumstances with pandemic and no fans in stadiums, United’s deal with “teamviewer” is as good as it can get. United are taking a big £15 million a year hit with the new deal but it is understandable as football learns to adapt with new climate of under pandemic crisis.
