Chelsea looking forward to set new records in the season 2021-22. The club signed new players to it’s squad make possible changes before the season kickoff. Thomas Tuchel who managed to Champions League season in his first managerial season with the Blue’s signed Romelu Lukaku on record transfer deal worth of (£98 million). The club have changed their player recruitment policy which now focuses more on buying young players with potential and not giving out massive contracts to retain the players but instead new player contracts feature big performance related clauses alongside base salary.
2021/22 Transfers: The blues did not waste much time and signed Inter Milan forward (Romelu Lukaku). Lukaku signed 5 years contract deal with club which is worth of £75 million. Marcus Bettinelli, on free transfer joined the club of Chelsea, he played a great season for Fulham. Saúl Ñíguez, salary reported £6.24 million, but Chelsea will pay half of it, as he joined the club loan deal which ends before June 2022.
Performance Related Clauses: Unlike the previous years, where Chelsea would give out massive guaranteed salary packages to new players, they are now only buying players who agree to install big performance related clauses instead of higher base salary. Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Kai Harvetz who signed long-term deal will make massive bonuses for scoring goals, involved in a team win. All three players earn salaries upto £250k to £330k, but bonuses increase their wages to (£400k) maximum or more than that.
